10 months old

Sorry for the long silence on her blog spot peeps. I don't have the luxury of putting addie down somewhere and getting things done. She is such a fast crawler we call her "motor scooter". She is also very close to walking. She loves to hold your pointer finger and 'walk' around the house. We bought her first pair of sneakers 2 weeks ago.. they are pink Garanimal velcro sneakers & SHE LOVES THEM. She use to HATE things on her feet.. socks, shoes, whatever.. but since i've put on her sneakers she leaves them on all day. We even have some white sandals and she wears those happily too.. b/c she can walk anywhere she wants to with shoes.
At her last Dr. appt. - around 9 1/2 mth- she weighed 16lbs 11 oz. and was 27 inches long. She is still only in the 10th percentile of other children her age, but she is healthy. Her blood count is completely normal (the whole iron thing is resolved).
She has her two bottom teeth and one top tooth is halfway out and the other top tooth is just starting to make its way out of her gum. Adriana gets runny nose, boogies, crankiness and clingy during bad teething days. We love Tylenol and ice in a mesh bag!! unfortunately, that is the case today.
Something she just taught herself yesterday is CLAPPING. too cute!! She was in her car seat doodling around when all of a sudden she started to clap. Then again, and again and again. Now, she's been doing it all day and just smiles-- she is so proud of herself. A new accomplishment.
I am trying to think what else we have been up to. We are getting ready to celebrate her 1st year of life-- and oh, what a life it has been. She is too funny and we have enjoyed her immensly. I have been having more moments of frustration with her, but God is teaching me how to patiently love her and discipline her at the same time. That is hard for me b/c I either want to be really mad or totally fine with whatever she is doing. Finding the balance of showing her another way and keeping in mind she is still learning and does not disobey out of defiance, but more out of curiosity at this stage is sometimes challenging. Although, she doesn't need to learn manipulation tactics that's for sure. Example: Friday night we were invited to a dinner get together. Adriana wanted to eat table food- which was fine- she ate some plain spaghetti and bread. My friend Mari was holding her and feeding her a lot of bread b/c Adriana was asking for it- I told Addie (& mari) no more. I got out her jar of baby food and Mari got a spoonful for her and immediately she starts to fake cry... no tears, just whining and crying face. We all laughed. She continued to refuse her food w/ fake crying and asking for bread. At that point, she was told no more bread. She didn't necessarily need baby food since she already ate dinner, but if she wanted to eat anything else it needed to be baby food. Addie chose to get down. ha.ha. Anyone have a baby story like that?
